Air Travel
The closest airport to Reading is London Heathrow. From Heathrow, the easiest way to get to Reading is to use the RailAir coach service that stops at Reading train station. Alternatively arrange for a taxi transfer. London Gatwick Airport is also close to Reading. From Gatwick, there is a direct train service to Reading train station.

Public Transport
Reading train station is well served by trains from various places across the UK, including direct services from Oxford and London. Reading Buses also operate a comprehensive bus service within the local area.

Accommodation
Accommodation is available off campus in Reading town centre. Given that the main conference venue is situated at the university’s London Road Campus, near to the town centre, we recommend conference attendees look for accommodation in Reading town centre (see the Venue webpage for more information).

Reading town centre offers a variety of options for off campus accommodation. Some recommended options include the following. Please also check your favoured travel website for further options.

The Roseate Hotel (5*)
This luxury and historical hotel is located within the beautiful Forbury Gardens and offers a fine dining restaurant and bar. It is located 5 minutes away from Reading train station and is a 15-20 minute walk from London Road campus.

Novotel Reading Centre (4*)
Novotel has an excellent central location only a few minutes from Reading train station, and has access to local buses. It is an approximately 15-20 minute walk away from London Road campus.

Premier Inn Reading Central (3*)
This hotel also has an excellent central location, close to the Oracle Shopping Centre (5 minute walk) and also within easy reach of Reading train station (approximately 10 minute walk). It is an approximately 10 minute walk from London Road campus.

Garner Hotel Reading City Centre (3*)
Approximately 5 minutes from Reading train station, this hotel also has an excellent central location, close to local bus stops. It is an approximately 10 minute walk away from London Road campus.
